Mortimer has occasionally been teased for his large ears (he has even been called a bunny once or twice), but he finds them to be extremely useful and is more than happy to enumerate those varied uses to anyone who shows the slightest interest. On sunny days, they make excellent sun shades. On windy days, they let Mortimer glide a bit if he can catch an updraft. And when watching scary movies, he can cover his eyes without needing to divert his hooves from eating popcorn. As a bonus, those soft ears perfectly frame his handsome snout, lending an air of gentleness to a heavy and not-so-soft body that is rather firmly stuffed with pellets.
